On June 10, 2012 I took my family to see the science fiction film Prometheus. It's based on a common question – Did God make man, or did aliens, or was it some combination thereof? This article will examine the topic in both the Torah Code, and in the open text of the Torah. Figures 1 and 2 are both based on the same axis term ELS of PROMETHIUS. On the second line of Figure 1 we find AND GOD MADE plus THE EARTH. Near AND GOD MADE is PLANETat an ELS. Early in Genesis angels are often discussed in conjunction with creation (Let us make man, etc.). The Hebrew word for angel is the same word as messenger. On Figure 1 in the open text is ANGEL OF GOD FROM HEAVEN. Also shown on Figure 1 is LAND OF EGYPT. The word for LAND also means Earth. The entertainment industry (TV and movies) often produce movies (like Star Gate) based on the idea that our first great civilization in Egypt had alien help for construction. You can watch the film's trailers here. The statistical significance of Figures 1 and 2 is discussed at the end of this article.
Figure 1 (above) and Figure 2 (below) are both based on the same ELS of PROMETHEUS, but Figure 2 is expanded to the left to show the first word of the Bible - translated as IN THE BEGINNING.
On Figure 2 the axis term is the same ELS of PROMETHEUS, but I just show what's found from its column left until we see the first word of the Bible: IN THE BEGINNING. This requires a matrix of 768 letters. If I kept expanding to the left I could have shown all of Genesis Chapter 1 Verse 1, but instead I chose to look for the remaining key words elsewhere on the matrix. Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." On the 912-letter matrix is IN THE BEGINNING, GOD MADE,HEAVEN and THE EARTH. Also on the matrix at an ELS is ALIEN. What does the Author want us to believe - that GOD MADEHEAVEN and THE EARTH, or that an ALIEN made it?
The movie PROMETHEUSasks if aliens made man. In the film there is a DNA match, but it turns out that they now want to destroy us. It kind of mirrored God's creating the world, only to decide that it's best to drown all of humanity except Noah and his family. Not satisfied with that answer, the devoutly Christian crew member Elizabeth Shaw decides that she wants to climb further up the alien Tower of Babel for an answer about why they want to kill us.
PROMETHEUSalso wants to know Who created the aliens. Here we arrive at a related question; in the Bible by angels does the Torah mean aliens. On the bottom line of Figure 2 is ANGEL OF GOD FROM HEAVEN. Which is more significant statistically - ALIEN or ANGEL OF GOD FROM HEAVEN? As is apparent from the spreadsheet below, before consideration of the axis term ELS rank, there were three words that would have worked for the term ALIEN. One of the three was virtually certain (98.97% likely) to be on Figure 2. So this term isn't statistically significant. The word HEAVEN was there at skip +1 (best case scenario) against odds of about 16 to 1, and ANGEL was there against odds of about 11 to 1. Clearly the reference to ANGEL OF GOD FROM HEAVEN is more significant than ALIEN, though not monumentally so.
POSSIBLE TORAH REFERENCES TO ALIENS AND THEIR HOME WORLD.
There several strong hints in the Torah that aliens might have played some role both in the rapid development of our entire species, and, later, in the specific development of the Jewish people.
Genesis 1:1. The controversy begins with the first verse in the Bible. It in part sets the stage for the divergence of opinion between Orthodox Judaism and Christianity. The problem kicks in with the second and third words of Torah. The second word, pronounced barah, is the singular verb for created. Score one for the Jews, but the third word is pronounced Elohim, and this word for God looks like it's plural. Here Christians start their argument for the Trinity; but Wikipedia states, "When used with singular verbs and adjectiveselohim is usually singular, "god" or especially, theGod. When used with plural verbs and adjectives elohim is usually plural, "gods" or "powers." At times it is used for angels, or even judges.
Genesis 1:26. It's conceivable that Genesis 1:26 may refer to angels when it says,"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness." Genesis never explicitly states when God made angels (or aliens, if He made them), but the answer to that is may be wrapped in Genesis 1:1 when God made the heavens. However, one Jewish source, Targum Yonassan (Jonathan) paraphrases Genesis 1:26 as, "And God said to the ministering angels who had been created on the second day of Creation of the world, 'Let us make man.'"
Genesis 5:24. The Torah indicates that Enoch, unlike other men leading up to Noah, did not die as it says of the others. Rather it says, "And Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, for God had taken him."
The commentary in THE STONE EDITION Chumash states, "Targum Yonassum paraphrases the verse as follows: And Enoch served in truth before God, and behold, he was not with the sojourners of earth, for he was withdrawn and he ascended to heaven by the word of God."
Genesis 6:2. Here is where we begin to find that Elohim may not always mean God. The Hebrew reads that the B'Nai Elohim saw that the daughters of man were good and they took themselves wives from whoever they chose. All Christian translations on line rendered B'Nai Elohim as Sons of God, but a Jewish translation in THE STONE EDITION Chumash rendered B'Nai Elohim as Sons of the rulers. This section might refer to abduction by aliens.
Genesis 6:4. Here we find that a race of giants were present. At times, as is the case here, they are called Nephilim. But elsewhere in Torah the giants were called Anakim. Genesis 6:4 reads, "The Nephilim were on the Earth in those days - and also afterward when the sons of Elohim would consort with the daughters of man, who would bear to them." If there is one theme that seems to emerge over and over again in claims of abductions by aliens, it is that they are very interested in interbreeding with our species. This is certainly analogous to what we read was going on in Genesis 6:2 and 6:4. And as such, the movie PROMETHEUS takes license to pose the questions that it does about our origins.
Genesis 6:7. After having limited our life spans to 120 years in Genesis 6:3, God now decides to blot out man. However the Hebrew doesn't mention Elohim in Genesis 6:3 or 6:7. Rather, it's theTetragrammaton, YHWH, who decides to kill everyone except Noah and his family. In PROMETHEUS, the one surviving Being from the species who created us is likewise intent on our destruction. A standard Jewish prayer book includes Pirkei Avos, (Ethics of the Fathers). Verse 3:23 of it reads as follows:
Rabbi Elazar (ben) Chisma says, The laws of bird offerings and [of returning to] the beginnings of the menstrual cycle, it is these that are the essential laws; astronomy and mathematics (geometry – literally Gematria) are the desserts of wisdom.
It was upon realizing the above, and how the use of YHWH differs from Elohim, that I turned to a new combination of gematria and relatively recent astronomy to seek the home world of any associated alien life, and I struck what might be pay dirt. In gematria each Hebrew letter has a set mathematical value. Add them up and you have the value of the word, which can then be related to other terms with the same value. So what is YHWH? Y = 10, + H = 5, + W = 6, + H = 5. In short, 10+5+6+5 = 26. Now, with this number, 26, we turn to astronomy and ask "Is there any star at 26 light years from Earth that could harbor life?" BINGO. There sure is. It's name is Chara. The details follow:
Star 26 light years away could harbour alien life.
A yellow-orange sun called Chara 26 light years from Earth has been identified by scientists as one of the most likely sources of intelligent alien civilisation in the universe.
After a two year hunt for "habitable zones", or regions in far away solar systems where planets would enjoy the perfect conditions for life, Chara is one of five stars named as promising hotspots for life.
The list was produced by Margaret Turnbull, an astronomer at the Carnegie Institute of Washington, after trawling information on 120,000 stars, and will be used to make the hunt for signs of extraterrestrial life more efficient.
However, as promising as Chara sounded above, before following Prometheus character Elizabeth Shaw up the proverbial Tower of Babelto cast a glympse at our Creator, according to Wikipedia, as of 2009 the star Chara (Beta Canum Venaticorum (β CVn, β Canum Venaticorum)was not known to host planets.
What about the Gematria for Elohim? This name’s spelling and value is alef (1) + lamed (30) + hey (5) + yud (10) + mem (40). The total value is 76. There is a star 76 light years from Earth. It is HD 1461, and it has planets. A December 15, 2009 article published by the University of California, Santa Cruz, and World Science staff indicated the following:
“The second new system found by the team features a planet weighing the equivalent of about 7.5 Earths and orbiting the star HD 1461, another near perfect twin of the Sun about 76 light-years away. The planet, designated HD 1461b, is about halfway between Earth and Uranus in weight. The researchers said they cannot tell yet if it’s a scaled-up version of Earth, composed largely of rock and iron, or whether, like Uranus and Neptune, it is made mostly of water.
At least one and possibly two additional planets also orbit the star, the group said. Lying in the constellation Cetus, HD 1461 can be seen with the naked eye in the early evening under good dark-sky conditions."
Genesis Chapter 18 - Sarah was promised a child when she was 90, and the people (angels, or aliens?) making the promise are on their way to facilitate the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah from above. Up until this point, if there was any alien interbreeding with man, it was done with women that all mankind are descended from. We know that Sarah was later abducted by Abimelech (Genesis 20:2). But could it be that she was also abducted and implanted by aliens? If so, was it with an old egg first removed from her, and then fertilized with Abraham's old sperm, or was it with another genetic source? If it was the latter (granted, a huge IF), then the Jewish people descended from her son Isaac are from more recent alien stock than would be true for other races on Earth. Even if this is a total fantasy, when the Nazis developed much later, they often spoke about being descended from an alien race. In this sense, they may have seen the Jewish gene pool as a competitive one, and thus were all the more determined to wipe us out. I have a very unusual friend, Clark McClelland, who once work with Wernher von Braun and other former Nazis scientists. You can read about Clark elsewhere on my site, or check out his own site. Clark is adamant that they told him that the Germans were descended from aliens.
ELIZABETH SHAW'S DILEMA, AND MINE TOO. In Prometheus, Elizabeth Shaw is a deeply religious Christian. Even after she saw the DNA evidence indicating that humans are descended from beings on the planet she has visited, she still didn't want to part with the Cross around her neck, or with her faith. And so it is with my Judaism.
I have long said that there are two types of people on Earth. I could break them up into Jews and Gentiles, but a more important distinction might be made between those who have never seen or encountered a UFO, and those who have. I belong to the second group, having seen one over 59 years ago on my 10th birthday in Philadelphia. The event was reported in the press after 200 people called in the encounter to the Franklin Institute. It scared the hell out of me, and affected me enough that for 20 years after I saw it, whenever I got up to go the bathroom or to grab a snack in the middle of the night, I'd always check the sky. However, for all the checking that I did, I never saw anything like it again.
Many years later I learned that not just one, but two people in my family had either seen a recovered alien craft up close, or had back-engineered one. Both of them are dead now. The man who saw the Roswell craft was a NASA Test/Launch Conductor named Stan Gross. His disclosure was made to me in the presence of two other witnesses on December 24, 1997. This was on the night that I first met him. Briefly, he indicated that he was shown the craft in 1964. The reason he was shown it was that he had a "need to know" that translated into how he was to act if a UFO were observed in the vicinity of a launch. Stan never told his wife about it because he didn't want to alarm her, but given his high position in NASA, he certainly alarmed me. He contended that the Roswell Incident wasn't unique, and that there was on ongoing relationship between the aliens and our Government. When asked if they were friendly or hostile, he replied that, "You don't know what your neighbor is thinking." I took that to mean that the true nature of alien intensions was unknown, or that they were untrustworthy. Stan refused to tell me where he had seen the craft, indicating that this kind of specific information was too classified.
As part of an experiment, I transmitted my account of Stan's revelation to some Torah Codes research associates who I knew had also had UFO encounters of varying degrees. There was bait in the message aimed at drawing our Government to look at my computer. The bait was in the form of a related topics. One topic was reason for the Kennedy assassinations which were listed as the Government's desire to keep the Roswell Incident secret. The other topic was about whether there was any truth to Internet stories about a joint Government-alien base under Dulce, New Mexico. Uncle Sam bit at the bait. On my computer, and those of my associates who also had a program called Zone Alarm, we all received messages within a few minutes about an attempt to hack into our systems. Further, a now deceased associate, Walter York, had his wife receive a threatening call within five minutes of my transmission. She was simply told that "We know you live in the house across the street from a green and white house." The caller then hung up. You can read about Walt and his UFO encounters elsewhere on my site. I know that the attempt to hack into our computers was Government directed because (1) Zone Alarm gave me the IP address of the hacker, and (2) a friendly intelligence officer traced the address for me.
My other relative who was involved in all this was hostile when asked about whether Stan was "playing with a full deck;" but on the last day that I ever saw him (about a year before he died) he gave me credible evidence that he himself had back-engineered alien technology. In fact it seemed like he was giving me marching orders to find and publish the full truth. His statement illicited denial by some relatives, and indications by others (like his now deceased sister) that they had known all along about his involvement. I could add a lot of detail here, but there are still relatives who (for safety-related reasons) don't want to be bathed in the light of the press about this matter. They want a delay of at least another 15 years before I publish everything.
I have been personally threatened about what I know, and I have seen similar threats carried out. But like Elizabeth Shaw, I think the overall answer to the question posed by Prometheus is one worth taking risks to answer. There are, besides those in my family, many people who saw my show about the Torah Codes, and who then contacted me about their own alien encounters. Some I could dismiss as crackpots. But others had stories that were at least worth publishing on this site. A list of related stories and links follows:
UFO CLOSE ENCOUNTER TESTIMONIALS OF PEOPLE THAT I KNOW OR WHO I HAVE INTERVIEWED.
An Edwards Air Force Base official report mentions credible reports of teleportation from UFOs. I have spoken to some of the people involved with the report.
He claims to have been taken into orbit around Jupiter. He also claims to be able to conduct remote viewing. When tested, he was able to successfully describe objects in my home that were allegedly seen that way.
Claimed to have been abducted by tall golden colored aliens
GOVERNMENT AGENDAS AND POTENTIAL IMPACT ON CIVILIZATION OF AN ALIEN PRESENCE DISCLOSURE. In the film Prometheus it quickly becomes apparent that the agenda of those financing the mission is not the same as the scientists on it. The same is true in the real world. A huge number of Americans (about 14% according to an AP poll in October, 2007) have seen a UFO. But our Government employs a strategy of apathy, mockery, or threats in response to what people have seen or what they know as a result of having had access to the truth as was the case with Stan Gross above.
It should be obvious from my web site that while I have a strong interest in UFOs and alien life, I have not allowed it to interefere with my love of God and His Torah. To me, it's unimportant if Abraham was contacted by aliens or angels, so long as his points of contact were linked to God. People often argue that some angels are fallen (like Lucifer) while others work God's will. The same could just as easily be true of aliens. Some may be here to abduct or sexually abuse us, while others might be here to help us. But whatever the case may be, our Government likely has no interest in telling us the truth.
Let's say that the plasma physicist Dr. John Brandenburg is correct, and that our Government knows there once was a nuclear war on Mars, one that destroyed an ancient civilization there. If they acknowledge this it would likely cause a panic every time a UFO would be spotted, even if the UFO only turned out to be a weather balloon.
If we assume that the Roswell Incident is based on truth, and that our Government really did recover an alien spacecraft (complete with aliens bodies, dead and alive), then it becomes likely that we can believe at least some of what Lieutenant Colonel Philip J. Corso claimed in his book, THE DAY AFTER ROSWELL. Corso was a member of President Eisenhower's National Security Council and former head of the Foreign Technology Desk at the U.S. Army's Research & Development department in the Pentagon. In his Walter Mitty-like book he alleges his personal stewardship of alien artifacts from the Roswell crash. He tells us how he spearheaded the Army's reverse-engineering project that led to today's integrated circuit chips, fiber optics, lasers and super-tenacity fibers (used in bullet-proof vests). As he makes clear in his book, there are patents and reputations involved with these things, which equates to money and power. The companies and people who hold those patents and who make money from them are not likely to be happy about losing any of it.
It's also possible that any joint Government-alien research projects are funded by funds that are not traceable, especially if it turns out that the funds are derived from drugs. If that were to be exposed, a lot of people would go to prison. These are the people who would have the strongest motvation to keep the lid on with respect to real truth.
Finally, we must consider the cultural effects that Prometheus concerns itself with. Elizabeth Shaw was not anxious to part with the Cross around her neck, or the values that go with it. Others were only too willing to try to take them from her. On the night that I heard Stan Gross make the claims that he did, my older son heard them too. He was an MIT geophysics major headed for a set of orders to Space Command, but he probably decided that he didn't want to live a lie. So when he graduated he asked for a deferral, went to Yeshiva, and he finally entered the service as a chaplain. He was never comfortable discussing what he learned that night. Basically his response to the information gained was to reject all science and to turn inward with religion.
My younger son (David) is being affected by what we know in exactly the opposite manner. He's over 90% sure that the aliens are here, and working with our government (which he perceives as Satanic). Having earned his B.S. in space physics while he was only 18 years old; he sees all truth only in terms of physics and math. While he stills keeps the Sabbath and obeys the kosher laws of our faith, he's extremely rebellious when it comes to accepting religious dogma. In the Prometheus film, there's an android named David. He has a hard time comprehending moral laws. My David knows the difference between right and wrong. He's a hard working academic genious. But if his certainty about an alien presence here goes from over 90% to 100%, then I fear that all his concepts of right and wrong would be destroyed as they were for the film's android David.
The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky is a philosophical novel that enters deeply into the ethical debates of God, free will, and morality. In Book Eleven of it, Smerdyakov confessed that he murdered Fyodor Karamazov. He goes on to claims that Ivan Karamzaov was complicit in the murder by instilling in Smerdyakov the belief that in a world without God "everything is permitted."
My David actually sees potential good in destruction of religious ideas. He argues that without God, people would stop killing each other over religious differences. But from everything I've been able to surmise, there are many space-faring species. I can't say that he's right, but one of the people that I've interviewed and written about who claims to have been taken on an alien vessel, Richard Robson, claims that while the large mother ship he visited was out in orbit around Jupiter, it went to battle stations in conjunction with the threat from another vessel. If he's right, then losing our religions would not guarantee that we would see an end to war. What might be delivered by anyone who proves the existence of aliens, especially if the proof destroys our religions, might be simply a ticket to join greater, more deadly interstellar wars. This threat too was presented in Prometheus.
WHAT DOES THE TORAH CODE WANT US TO KNOW ABOUT GOD VS. THE ALIENS? On the much-edited interview of me back in 2004 that was shown on the History Channel’s show,Bible Code II, Apocalypse and Beyond; I was asked about who wrote the Code. Elsewhere on the show I emphasized that the Bible Code was not yet proven to exist because extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence – like an Ark find via encoded maps. But to this question I answered with three possibilities: aliens (mentioned in Michael Drosnin's best selling book - The Bible Code), a human time traveler or signal from the future, and God. I came down solidly on the side of the Third One. Yet a top figure in the UFO community (retired Commander Cecil B. Scott Jones) contacted me, and expressed an interest in pursuing Drosnin’s idea of alien authorship. Figures 1 and 2 seemed to indicate what Judaism and Christianity have long argued, that God created the universe - which automatically includes man. While, as a scientist, I have been open to seeing what, if anything, the Codes had to say about this matter, let me make clear that the Answer appears to be expressed most closely in the following matrices which pair (1) Roswell UFO with Do not set up an alien man over you; and (2) Saucer with Rid thyself of thy alien gods. The first matrix also mentions the area of Baal Zephon – closely associated throughout this web site and in my Ark Code book with where I believe the Ark of the Covenant to be. As Prometheus makes clear in reference to the android David, it's not enough to "engineer" a life form, human or android. Our lives may be easier to understand through the laws of physics and math ordained by God, but they are worthless without that divine spark of Him that rests in us all - our souls. With that in mind, I'd give Prometheus a 10 as a film.
STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FIGURES 1 AND 2 MATRICES. As per my standard protocol, no statistical significance is assigned to the axis term, herePROMETHEUSat its 10th lowest skip. By far, the most significant term found was IN THE BEGINNING. It only occurs once in the open text in Torah and as the start of the Bible and its account of Creation, without this word the entire search for PROMETHEUSwould have been considered a failure. Before corrections for ELS rank 10 of the axis term, odds against having it appear on Figure 2 were about 334 to 1. The next most significant term was GOD MADE, which was on Figure 1 against odd of about 183 to 1, and on Figure 2 against odds of about 48 to 1. HEAVEN is found 81 times in Torah at skip +1. Odds against it appearing on the smaller Figure 1 were about 16 to 1, while on the large Figure 2 it was less than 5 to 1. ANGEL was on Figure 1 against odds were about 11 to 1. For PLANET the odds against it being on Figure 1 were close to 6 to 1. PLANET and ANGEL were not shown on Figure 2 because it would have required another 8 columns to the right and I was most interested in seeing IN THE BEGINNING which was to the left of the axis term. As was discussed above, with a choice of one 5-letter word for ALIENand two more 4-letter synonyms, there was almost a 99% chance that one of them would be at an ELS on Figure 2. Overall, Figure 1 was more significant that Figure 2. Figure 1 exists against odds of about 74,539 to 1; whereas for Figure 2 the odds were about 10,920 to 1.
