McCHRYSTAL: Cut off from his People, His Officers
On the below matrix about the firing of General McChrystal by President Obama, MCCHRYSTAL is the axis term (first term sought). It required a wrapped matrix (more than one computer pass through the 304,805 letters of Torah) to find the name, here at its minimum ELS (skip 57,009). The general’s fate directly crosses his name with HE SHALL BE CUT OFF FROM HIS PEOPLE and YOUR OFFICERS. It only requires 63 letters to see this. Also on the wider matrix of 203 letters in the open text is YOU SHALL NOT RULE. The terms crossing his name were only found a posteriori (after looking at the matrix) with a number of key terms first sought, but not found (like Obama) in a sufficiently small area with to be significant. As such, a p value (statistical significance) is not assigned here, although the matrix is very consistent with the general fate of key people being encoded in Torah as was discussed on my page about Talmud and Names.
The General was, I believe, right on about how to fight the war, but way out of line in how he responded to the President's policies. As a retired officer, I am often critical of President Obama, but I would not write the things I do if I were still on active duty (as I was until my 60th birthday). The correct way for McChrystal to behave was to (1) resign his post, (2) submit his request for retirement, and (3) announce his candidacy for President. This way he would have had a good chance to fire his boss in 2012 The general may still opt for politics, but his judgment will now always be an issue. We all, of course, make mistakes. Given a choice of voting for the President or the General, I would support the General. But he has certainly not made that support easy. Perhaps General Petraeus, the replacement of General McChrystal, will (I pray) offer a better choice.
