MAYAN DOOMSDAY, IRAN, GAZA, AND ISRAEL
ONE MONTH UNTIL THE MAYAN CALANDAR ENDS (11/21/2012).
As I write this, a ceasefire has just begun between Israel and Gaza, and it's exactly a month before the end of the Mayan Calendar and its fabled Doomsday. There's a long history of broken ceasefires before (and reports of early violations again by Gaza with 20 more missiles fired at Israel after the ceasfire). As you might surmise from the cartoon below, I don’t take the Mayan Calendar seriously. However, I do take the threat of an atomic Holocaust brought about by President Obama’s weakness seriously, although I can't pin day a specific day to the event. The three matrices that link Obama with a nuclear holocaust are (A) ATOMIC IRAN, (B) ATOMIC HOLOCAUST AND IRAN, and (C) WORLD WAR. For the matrix below the axis term is DOOMSDAY (literally DAY OF JUDGMENT). Right next to it at the same skip is MAYAN. Also at the same skip are IRAN and GAZA. In the open text is ISRAEL. Close to IRAN is SHALL DIE. The statistical significance of all this is discussed at the end of this article.
HOW COULD GAZA LEAD TO WORLD WAR THREE? First of all, as the new image shows next to the matrix above, Israel may have assassinated Hamas Military Commander Achmed Jabari in part as a (justified) provocation so they could deplete the Hamas missile inventory. Should Israel opt to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons program, it must assume that Iran would order Hamas to fire all its rockets at Israel. There is also a possibility that Hezbollah in Lebanon would be asked to fire all its rockets at Israel, although Syria is, due to its own civil war, no longer a powerful ally of Hezbollah.
Israel has fired a huge number of its successful Iron Dome rockets at Gazan rockets. It may need to restock and expand its Iron Dome inventory before attacking Iran. This need may have played a role in the ceasefire.
If the rocket fire does resume, one way that all of this can spiral out control is as follows:
1. Hamas resumes rocket fire.
2. Israel obliterates Gaza.
3. Hezbollah opens fire on Israel.
4. Israel attacks Iran with tactical nuclear weapons. It also uses neutron bombs on Hezbollah.
5. Pakistan’s 80+ nuclear weapons are seized by the Taliban and or by Al Qaida. Israel is forced to attack Pakistan. Pakistan attacks Western targets and/or India. Some Pakistani nuclear weapons are smuggled out and into the U.S. for use there.
WHY THE CEASEFIRE IS ILL-ADVISED. The following editorial appeared in the normally liberal Jerusalem Post on November 18, 2012. It was written by Gilad Sharon, and it fully represents my position:
A DECISIVE VICTORY IS NECESSARY
There is no middle path here – either the Gazans and their infrastructure are made to pay the price, or we reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip.
Anyone who thinks Hamas is going to beg for a cease-fire, that Operation Pillar of Defense will draw to a close and quiet will reign in the South because we hit targets in the Gaza Strip, needs to think again.
With the elimination of a murderous terrorist and the destruction of Hamas’s long-range missile stockpile, the operation was off to an auspicious start, but what now? This must not be allowed to end as did Operation Cast Lead: We bomb them, they fire missiles at us, and then a cease-fire, followed by “showers” – namely sporadic missile fire and isolated incidents along the fence. Life under such a rain of death is no life at all, and we cannot allow ourselves to become resigned to it.
A strong opening isn’t enough, you also have to know how to finish – and finish decisively. If it isn’t clear whether the ball crossed the goal-line or not, the goal isn’t decisive. The ball needs to hit the net, visible to all. What does a decisive victory sound like? A Tarzan-like cry that lets the entire jungle know in no uncertain terms just who won, and just who was defeated.
To accomplish this, you need to achieve what the other side can’t bear, can’t live with, and our initial bombing campaign isn’t it.
THE DESIRE to prevent harm to innocent civilians in Gaza will ultimately lead to harming the truly innocent: the residents of southern Israel. The residents of Gaza are not innocent, they elected Hamas. The Gazans aren’t hostages; they chose this freely, and must live with the consequences.
The Gaza Strip functions as a state – it has a government and conducts foreign relations, there are schools, medical facilities, there are armed forces and all the other trappings of statehood. We have no territorial conflict with “Gaza State,” and it is not under Israeli siege – it shares a border with Egypt. Despite this, it fires on our citizens without restraint.
Why do our citizens have to live with rocket fire from Gaza while we fight with our hands tied? Why are the citizens of Gaza immune? If the Syrians were to open fire on our towns, would we not attack Damascus? If the Cubans were to fire at Miami, wouldn’t Havana suffer the consequences? That’s what’s called “deterrence” – if you shoot at me, I’ll shoot at you. There is no justification for the State of Gaza being able to shoot at our towns with impunity. We need to flatten entire neighborhoods in Gaza. Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki, too.
There should be no electricity in Gaza, no gasoline or moving vehicles, nothing. Then they’d really call for a ceasefire.
Were this to happen, the images from Gaza might be unpleasant – but victory would be swift, and the lives of our soldiers and civilians spared.
IF THE government isn’t prepared to go all the way on this, it will mean reoccupying the entire Gaza Strip. Not a few neighborhoods in the suburbs, as with Cast Lead, but the entire Strip, like in Defensive Shield, so that rockets can no longer be fired.
There is no middle path here – either the Gazans and their infrastructure are made to pay the price, or we reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip. Otherwise there will be no decisive victory. And we’re running out of time – we must achieve victory quickly. The Netanyahu government is on a short international leash. Soon the pressure will start – and a million civilians can’t live under fire for long. This needs to end quickly – with a bang, not a whimper.
STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MATRIX. As per my standard protocol, no statistical significance is assigned to the axis term (here DOOMSDAY). This is only the 13th lowest ELS of the term, and there were many other combinations that I could have singled out (some with December 21 on them), however I chose to present this one because it has three key a-priori terms at the same skip as the axis term - MAYAN, IRAN and GAZA. MAYAN appeared at a special case skip (+/-1 or the absolute skip of the axis term) against odds of about 21 to 1, IRAN was here this way against odds of about 49 to 1, and GAZA was found this way against odds of about 32 to 1. ISRAEL was expected to be on the matrix as it found in the open text 591 times in Torah. No value is assigned to SHALL DIE because it was found a-posteriori. After devaluing the combined values by a factor of 13 to account for the ELS rank of DOOMSDAY, the matrix is rated as existing against odds of about 4,370 to 1. This doesn't mean that I believe the world will end or an atomic holocaust will begin in accordance with the Mayan Calendar, but like everyone else that day, I will be watching the news closely. One positive note for those of you who do take the Mayans seriously - there is no sign of Nibiru in our sky now, as would be the case if it really were close enough to destroy our world.
