NEWT GINGRICH AND THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MATRIX. Other than the obvious history of hypocrisy, I like Mr. Gingrich and I agree with many of his views, as I make clear on my page about electromagnetic pulse weapons. But it would be refreshing to have a candidate for President that did not have affairs, do drugs, or have a questionable nation of birth. There is a former Baptist minister that I think fills the bill - Mike Huckabee, but he dropped out of the race On May 14, 2011. If you're wondering why the 32-letter matrix on Mike Huckabee was rated at 1 chance in 28, and why this larger (145-letter) matrix for Gingrich and President was a more significant match, the answer is that the Huckabee matrix was only based on the 5th lowest ELS of his name, whereas the Gingrich matrix is based on the only (and therefore lowest) ELS of his name. Had the lowest ELS of Mike Huckabee been in a 32-letter matrix with President and skip +1, then that match would have occurred against odds of 140 to 1. Among Republicans vying for the nomination, by far the best match with President seems to be with Mitt Romney.
UPDATE OF JANUARY 22, 2012: After losing the first two contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, Gingrich landed an important win in the South Carolina primary on January 21, 2012. Note: On an earlier version of this matrix I showed a weak match with the Hebrew year 5772. While the primaries and Republican convention are occuring in the year 5772, the election will occur after the Jewish New Year for 5773 (which occurs on the evening of September 16, 2012). Therefore I have removed the year from the matrix.
