JUDGE SOTOMAYOR

     There is an enormous amount of controversy swirling around Judge Sotomayor, a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.  If confirmed, she would be the first Latin American appointed to this high office.  Her power and policies will help shape be the U.S. for the rest of her life unless she is successfully impeached or unless she resigns.  The controversy centers around her earlier statement about a woman from her ethnic background being able to judge better than a white man, and about her biased ruling (later overturned by the Supreme Court) against whites who scored higher than minorities on a test used to promote fire fighters. 

      On the matrix above, a match of Deuteronomy 16:18 was sought with SOTOMAYOR.  Specifically, of the beginning of the verse, JUDGES AND OFFICERS SHALL YOU APPOINT, the target term was SHALL YOU APPOINT.  This is because a match of her name with this phrase would suggest a successful end to her confirmation process.  As you can see in the white background part of the matrix, it took 468 letters to produce the match, and this only with the 9^th lowest ELS of Sotomayor with the transliteration employed.  Other transliterations are possible.  If this matrix were based on the lowest ELS of SOTOMAYOR, it would be rated at p = .00153 which equals about 1 chance in 651 that it's here by chance alone.  But because SOTOMAYOR is at the 9th lowest ELS, p is adjusted by a factor of 9 to .0138 which equals about 1 chance in 72.   What runs directly through her name is an a posteriori phrase , CARRY OUT MY LAWS AND SAFEGUARD MY DECREEES.  A 4-letter ELS of a word for JUDGE is also found near her name.  Note that Judge Sotomayor was previously appointed by the Senate  as a judge on lower courts.
